He was playing music on his laptop while pretending to look at some spreadsheet.

“The battery’s going to run out,” she said.

“Of course it’s going to run out,” he said.

She shook her head. “But if you turn off the music, it will last longer.”

He stopped his shoulders dancing, looked at her. “I am a finite drop of water falling into an endless ocean. Does it matter how big I am as long as I make a splash?”
