B-Side Movie Quotes

I’m a guy, so I’ve spent my share of time quoting famous lines from famous movies.  I admit it.

But I also have a number of less famous (or not at all famous) quotes that regularly pop into my head.  I don’t know why, and I can’t detect any particular pattern, but it’s a little frustrating sometimes because, unlike with the famous quotes, I can’t really share these with anyone in daily parlance.  Rather than nodding and laughing, they’d probably tell me to sit back down or maybe ask if I wanted a glass of water.

So I thought I’d share them with you.  The sources are below – see how many you can guess.

  1. “That’s all well and good for sheep, but what are we supposed to do?”
  2. “What’s that candy wrapper doing there?  Well, don’t you see it?!  Well, pick it up!”
  3. “Screws fall out all the time.  The world’s an imperfect place.”
  4. “Anything different is good.”
  5. “I don’t care!  I ain’t no freakin’ monument to justice!”
  6. “Mmmm, that’s good Squishy.”
  7. “Is this real life?”

1. Todd Flanders, The Simpsons.  2: Lou, Caddyshack.  3: John Bender, The Breakfast Club.  4: Phil Connors, Groundhog Day.  5: Ronny Cammareri, Moonstruck.  6: Bart Simpson, The Simpsons.  7: David, After the Dentist (okay this isn’t a movie quote, but I’ve included it anyway.  who knew you could induce premature existential angst in an 8-year-old by giving him nitrous oxide and pulling out his tooth?)
